Meet Our Guides
Parents. Educators. Mentors. Advocates for Purpose-Driven Learning.
At Morning Glory Academy, our guides are more than educators—we are parents of adolescents, trained professionals, and passionate advocates for creating learning environments that prepare students for college, career, and life. With backgrounds in Montessori education, nonprofit leadership, higher education advising, and community development, we are committed to fostering a school where young people can thrive, explore, and shape their futures with confidence.
Kyra Hayward
Co-Teacher Leader | Montessori Educator | Community Development Specialist
Hi, I’m Kyra Hayward! I’m a mom, educator, consultant, and a strong believer in creating learning spaces where every student feels seen and supported. My background is in project management, grant administration, accounting, and community development, and I love helping organizations secure resources that make a real difference in communities.
I’m also the Co-Teacher Leader at Morning Glory Academy, where I help build a learner-driven, adolescent Montessori experience that supports academic excellence, creativity, and real-world skill development.
I’m currently earning my Adolescent Montessori Diploma through the International Montessori Training Institute, and I’m also pursuing a Master’s in Business Administration with a focus on Public Policy. My passion is making education more accessible and empowering young people to reach their full potential.
I truly believe that education can change lives, and I’m excited to be part of a school that nurtures students as thinkers, creators, and changemakers.

Hi, I’m Carla Vanzant—an educator, nonprofit leader, and advocate for student-centered, equitable learning. As the Executive Director and Founder of Inspire Life, I’ve developed transformative programs that empower youth and families through arts, technology, and leadership education. My work ensures that all children have access to high-quality, enriching learning experiences.
At Morning Glory Academy, I serve as Co-Teacher Leader, helping to shape a holistic, learner-driven educational environment that integrates STEAM, film, creative arts, and global learning. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Business and a Master’s in Nonprofit Leadership and Sociology, and I have spent over 15 years working in education and nonprofit leadership. My experience spans instruction, curriculum development, college advising, and program leadership across K-12, higher education, and community learning spaces.
I am currently completing my Adolescent Montessori training and am deeply committed to reimagining education—creating inclusive, hands-on learning spaces where young people develop independence, critical thinking, and real-world skills. I believe in education that prepares students not just for tests, but for life.
