Our Vision

Morning Glory Academy is an inclusive, modern middle and high school offering a distinct, learner-driven learning experience utilizing authentic Montessori. Our prepared adolescent environment empowers learners to find their voice and share their stories through film, creative arts, and rigorous academics. With three distinct tracks—one STEAM-focused, emphasizing math, tech, and engineering, one in film and creative arts, and one focused on general studies and college preparation—we merge academic excellence with artistic immersion to reshape education, storytelling, and access for the next generation.

During this crucial phase of adolescence, where learners transition toward self-guidance and self-governance, our holistic approach considers the whole person, not just test scores. Through a carefully crafted curriculum, prepared environment, and intentional routines, we provide the scaffolding and rigor needed to ignite passions, foster independence, and prepare learners for successful careers in STEAM, technology, film, and creative industries. Through this one-of-a-kind learning experience, our learners will uncover their voices, share their stories, and redefine what’s possible. We believe in nurturing liberated learners who can think critically, collaborate meaningfully, and impact the world around them. Our school will:

- Incorporate global and experiential learning, with a focus on coastal awareness and a special emphasis on Tanzanian culture

- Celebrate and center diverse backgrounds while embracing and welcoming everyone from all walks of life

- Foster a love for lifelong learning

- Provide rigorous academics that prepare learners for college and career

- Use the world and community as extensions of the classroom

- Tell accurate stories of history that highlight the rich contributions, blunders, and lessons of all groups

- Promote respect in all interactions

Our Mission

We are dedicated to nurturing creative leaders who are deeply rooted in their identities, empowered with the skills and knowledge for future success, and inspired to make a meaningful impact in their communities and the world. Through an inclusive, student-driven approach that integrates STEAM, technology, film, and creative arts, we prepare our learners to embrace their unique voices and reshape the future with confidence and purpose.

Our Motivation

In Monmouth County, there is a significant deficit of inclusive STEAM, tech, and film-focused opportunities for young people, particularly Black and Brown learners. Schools that do offer such specialized instruction tend to be highly exclusionary, catering only to a small percentage of students with the highest standardized test scores. This leaves a large group of learners without access to these valuable and unique educational opportunities.

Recognizing that Netflix and other creative opportunities are expanding into our area, the need for a truly inclusive school that teaches these integral skills is more critical than ever. With no established film schools in our immediate vicinity, Morning Glory Academy fills a vital gap by preparing students for emerging careers in film, technology, and the arts.

Our inclusive learning environment is designed to bridge this gap, providing access to specialized learning experiences for all types of learners. At Morning Glory Academy, we believe in nurturing the value and uniqueness of every learner. By offering this education through the authentic Montessori method, we ensure that learners receive the best education possible, rooted in a deep and intimate understanding of the individual child.

Our program empowers learners to become the best versions of themselves, encouraging them to push their intellectual boundaries through individualized learning plans and cultural responsiveness embedded in the very fabric of the school’s design. This approach allows learners to show up as their authentic selves and engage with material at levels that are true to their unique capabilities, fostering both personal and academic growth.
